GOLDEN AGE

This project by Agostino Chiarucci was born thanks to the collection of 5/6 years of shots, taken during moments of relaxation. There are no action photos since the author wanted to illustrate what lies behind riding: friendship, parties, crashes, injuries, road trips, plane, train and public transport travels…
But also its negative aspects: the scattering of riders who frequented the Butta Park in Pavia for instance, or more generally what is happening in the world of the Italian BMX scene closer to us, in Northern Italy.

Ago describes these aspects through his photographs, shot in analog black & white mode.
The choice is pondered to make the observer focus neither on the aesthetics of the subject nor the setting, but rather on expressiveness. These photographs aim to document the essence of situations; color would have distorted the observer’s perception.
